Update about KnowInterest family

Assalam alaikum,

Two years back (wow time flies), we conducted an interview with the co-author of KnowInterst.

Recently, we’ve learned that the family, mashaAllah tabarakaAllah, is about to pay off their house using their pure installment method (as described in their book KnowInterest).

They approached HalalBuzz (our marketing service) to help them promote their ebook so they can pay off the outstanding balance, inshaAllah.

So, if you like to know how they bought their house interest free you can buy their ebook at http://knowInterest.com.

We also urge you to spread the word to support the concept of Halal economy and help families own their homes without Riba.

May Allah reward you and bless your family

The psychology of buying in bulk

Do you buy too much stuff more than you need when you go to a “bargain” store? Read how customers behave in stores like Costco (a warehouse discount giant with worldwide stores).

But it’s not enough to just excite the NAcc (pleasure): retailers must also inhibit the insula (pain). This is where Costco really excels. When consumers are repeatedly assured that low prices are “guaranteed,” or told that a certain item is on sale, the insula stops worrying so much about the price tag.

In fact, researchers have found that even when a store puts a promotional sticker next to the price tag⎯something like “Bargain Buy!” or “Hot Deal!”⎯but doesn’t actually reduce the price, sales of the item will still dramatically increase. These retail tactics lull our brain into buying more things, since our normal response to price tags is pacified.

Currently, we are investing in a seminar business in Malaysia. We will discuss the pros and cons and why we decided to invest in such a company.

Foresight & Hindsight

Say, “I hold not for myself [the power of] benefit or harm, except what Allah has willed. And if I knew the unseen, I could have acquired much wealth, and no harm would have touched me. I am not except a warner and a bringer of good tidings to a people who believe.” [7:188]

Watch this conversation of investors Jim Rogers, Marc Faber, and Daniel Yergin recorded in 2003. It is interesting to see their forecast.
