Some encourage Muslims to buy from Muslim-owned businesses only.
Maggie Anderson and her family are conducting an “Empowerment Experiment:” Patronize black-owned businesses only, for a year.

If Muslims only bought from other Muslims, Islam would have never spread. Food for Thought.

Agreed with Azeem. We aren’t forbidden to do business with non-muslims. The more visible we are, the more opportunities for dawah there are. There is no need to imitate a few ultra political groups, when we have a way of life – if only we would just follow it. there’s nothing wrong with supporting muslim businesses, and this should be encouraged; but I feel there is something wrong to say we will patronize ONLY muslim businesses.

Azeem and Rehan,
Assalam Alaikum,
Good point about Dawah, the point of the post is more about supporting Muslim businesses.
As for Dawah you can do as a business owner too. Also, most of the time when you buy from Walmart or Starbucks there are no Dawah with the business owner anyway.
