Bismillah
My phone fell out of my pocket, which wasn’t bad enough, but…
I stepped on it and broke it into two halves!
So, why am I telling you this?
A friend on Facebook said, “Do you have insurance for the phone?” I said, “Insurance is haram.”
And I didn’t need it, because that phone has generated much more income than its price tag.
I’m telling you this incident to let you know that Allah has given you plenty of opportunities for halal income to cover your expenses.
Thus, instead of me telling you that insurance is haram, how about I just share with you how to earn more halal income?

That is a really interesting post, it got me thinking… why don’t I know more about money and what is halal from haram? Than it got me to brain storm halal income, what to do with that money, and of course, what to stay away from!
(But we could all always use a reminder/ elaborate on that topic when it comes to money- how to spend it wisely, etc.)

Yes, we need the HOW of not even thinking about approaching the tree, so to speak (because we’re getting the benefit from halal source), rather than a simple ‘the tree is haram.’
I became convinced of this teaching method when I once asked a Muslim teen about what the deen means to her and her answer was solely about what she can’t do in Islam and haram this and haram that. Right then and there, I decided that I don’t want to be the haram police and have no intention of teaching Islam as the Religion of No but as the Religion of Dignity that requires honorable and socially just means to whatever khair we’re seeking.
In this vein, I’m in the process of upgrading my blog (Muslimah Money Matters [at WordPress.com] ) to balance the emphasis and encourage the halal to resist the haram.
Looking forward to the halal tips, enough to do a survey for them
